So to start with, I completed year 12 at Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2007 and am now studying engineering at UQ. I'm still not entirely sure what I'll major in...maybe civil engineering? Engineering can be quite challenging at times, but overall it's a blast. I've made some great new mates and everyone is really friendly.
I've been to a number of networking events throughout the year thanks to QRC: a Women in Engineering workshop, a Women in Engineering breakfast, an information evening for high school students and another Women in Engineering networking event.

I applied for a few vac work jobs at mine sites for the christmas holidays but no one wanted to take me on. But that's ok...there's always a back up plan....I'm now planning a trip to Africa/India/somewhere exciting on an Intrepid Tour (or something similar) in a few months. I use the term 'planning' very loosely seeing as I only started 'planning' 3 days ago. And between now and then it looks like I'll be working at Witchery (a female clothing store...not some strange broomstick shop). It'll be a good break from studying and exams....speaking of which our results come out tomorrow I think.
